How do I inject an HP ink cartridge with a syringe?
Make sure you go in far enough, because if you don't, it will saturate the top part of the sponge first and leak out the top. If you go too far, you can pierce an important piece of 'mesh' placed between the sponge and printhead area. Go gently (always when refilling) until you meet a little resistance. Then you've gone far enough. Needle will go in about an inch. As for just saying the heck with it and buying cheap cartridges. make sure your supplier fills them to their max level vs what HP puts in them. HP puts 5ml, but they can hold up to 24 ml. Some suppliers are closer to 5 than 24.
