How do you stop a printer?
Stopping a printer mid-job is sometimes necessary when a print has been ordered erroneously, or to prevent wastage.  Although one initial reaction may be to disconnect the printer, this is not advisable, and probably won't solve your problem.  Depending on your model of printer, you may have access to a 'cancel print' button on the exterior of the printer unit.  Pressing this should end your current printing job.  Alternatively, most software programs offer the opportunity to cancel printing mid job through the software, rather than hardware, which is equally as effective regardless of make or model.
