I've two EPSON Stylus C86 printers from a while ago, I've being not using them for almost two years and now I just replaced some of the ink cartridges. What happened when I sent my colored flyer is that both printers were not giving me the right colors as I have them on the flyer. I tried the head cleaning and still have the same problem. One of them doesn't print the yellow and the other one doesn't print the green. I've tried the head cleaning and the nozzle check pattern but it did not work. I don't understand why both of them have the same problem.
You have a clogged printhead. Run the nozzle check and make sure ALL the lines are complete (no missing parts or gaps), you should also see ALL the colors on the nozzle check page. If you do not see Yellow, you have a really clogged printhead and it will require several head cleanings. Literally you can go through a whole set of ink cartridges trying to clean the printhead. I suggest that if you do not print very often (every 2 years) that you go with a HP printer that has a tri-colored ink cartridge. If you go with a printer that has individual ink cartridges, then you have a fixed/permenant printhead and if you do not print often, you are going to keep running into this problem. The HP tri-colored ink cartridges have a new printhead on them, so if you go 2 years without printing and the printhead is clogged, all you need to do is replace the ink cartridge.
