I am having problems concerning my Brother MFC 9200C printer's print quality. It's bad, almost a double exposure, and it looks smeared. Do I need a new print head or something?
How old is this printer? If it's over 2or 3 years old then your best bet is just to buy another printer preferably a Laserjet. Inkjet printers are cheaper in price but cost more in the long run for the INK cartridges. Laserjet is the way to go , you'll spend a lot less on supplies and the print quality is more consistent. The print head for the Brother MFC 9200 will cost anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 plus labor to install it and no, I don't recommend you buying one and trying to install it yourself, it's very difficult and easy to foul the job up. However if the Brother MFC 9200 is a year old or less, call Brother and explain what's going on and sometimes they will ship you a brand new printer under the warranty. They will want you to pack the defective printer in the same box the new one was shipped to you in and ship it back to them. They will even pay for all the shipping. I hope this helps, I'm a printer technician with 30 plus years of experience.
