I am importing .bmp format tif files into Adobe Photoshop, cropping, and making a plate in Corel Draw 12. It has never acted up until now. The print colours are just horrendous. One reason why I think is b/c we have to change the 24-bit RGB to CMYK for the publication. When printing, you can barely see the red only image. The Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer is nice. I already put in new color cartridges, and cleaned print nozzles. It's exactly what you suppose: When preparing images for printing, they should be constructed since the beginning in CMYK mode. Both RGB and CMYK modes have different colour gamuts, and CMYK is somewhat smaller. That's the reason why some RGB colours find no equivalent in CMYK mode. Remember: RGB is a colour model useful only for screen purposes (internet, computer presentations, etc.) Try converting the mode inside Photoshop, see if you can improve on the result and then import it inside Draw.
