I bought a Lexmark 1200 series printer for my T23 IBM Think Pad. My laptop will not recognize the USB cable and printer. I went to the Lexmark web site, downloaded the 1200 series driver and installed it, but still nothing.

I bought a Lexmark 1200 series printer for my T23 IBM Think Pad. My laptop will not recognize the USB cable and printer. I went to the Lexmark web site, downloaded the 1200 series driver and installed it, but still nothing.
Many printers are requiring you to install software before connecting the printer. Check your printers in Control Panel to make sure it isn't in there. Then, reboot computer, load CD and it should prompt you when to connect printer.
