I can't get my printer to work. I have a Lexmark 1200 series. I also have an Acer Aspire 5610 notebook with Vista Home Premium. I have contacted Lexmark and downloaded the program needed, but I still can't get my printer to work. Should I just buy a new printer that's compatible with Vista?
Unplug the printer, go to Start, Control Panel and find the printer folder. Right click on the printer icon and delete it. Run the program from Lexmark. At some point in the program, you will be prompted to attach the printer. When the program is done, you should be good to go. When you install a printer, always run the software before attaching the printer. Right now, there are no printers that will work right out of the box. You still will have to download the Vista driver.
