I currently have a Canon ip1600 and I am buying a Kodak 5300. Will the printer cable work with the new printer, or do I have to buy one specifically for the Kodak?

I currently have a Canon ip1600 and I am buying a Kodak 5300. Will the printer cable work with the new printer, or do I have to buy one specifically for the Kodak?
If they both use parallel printer cable they will interchange. If they both use usb cable they will interchange too. However if one uses usb and other uses parallel they will not interchange. Just make sure they run through the same type of cable.
