I have a Brother printer and it will say empty ink even when it is full. Then when you press print, it says that it's receiving data, but it never prints. Any ideas?

I have a Brother printer and it will say empty ink even when it is full. Then when you press print, it says that it's receiving data, but it never prints. Any ideas?
Is the ink cartridge a GENUINE one or a refill ? Refills need rechipped / chip reset to read as full again. Once it thinks it is out of ink it will STOP PRINTING till it 'knows' it has new ink If genuine cart, contact Brother support for help.
