I have a Dell All-in-One printer 942 and I bought a authentic ink cartridge but it is listed as series 5. The black in worked, but the color cartridge is not recognized. Does anyone know how to override this?
For the cartridge to be recognized by the printer, you have to unplug the power cord for about 5 minutes with the cartridge out of the printer. Then plug in the power cord and insert the same cartridge. Often times this is a problem because Dell did not produce a valid chip code. If this does not work then definitely call Dell and have them replace the cartridge since they are in warranty.
