I have a Kyocera FS-1020D laser printer. It has an issue where when you go to print. The paper is only picked up part way and then the printer will indicate it is either out of paper or a jam has occurred. Is this a common problem and what could fix this? Can the toner cartridge have something to do with it?

Try cleaning the feed rollers, and fusers or drum cartridges (different than toner or ink), could ususally cause the problem. I would first clean the rollers, then try replacing the drum cartridge, If that doesn't work, need a new fuser.
