I have a Lexmark T430. It worked ok for a long time, but then toner ran out. I bought a new toner cartridge, replaced it and tried to print out the printer settings from the printers internal settings. The top 1/3 of the page prints text, but the background is streaky. The bottom 2/3 of the page are solid black. Is this fixable?

The first part is easy, did you shake the cartridge before installing it? The second part sounds as if you have a faulty cartridge. Any cause I can think of would do this on the whole page and not just the bottom 2/3. Take the cartridge back and tell the vendor what is going on. If the replacement cartridge still gives the same problem, then you have a PSU problem.
