I have a Lexmark x1240 about 6 months old and I just bought new ink black 16, color 26 for it two days ago. It printed a document successfully the first time. I installed the new ink but after that, the letters on a word document started slowly getting blurred and faded. What's wrong with it?
Go to the control panel and go to 'Printers and Faxes' in there you should find an icon for your Lexmark printer. Right-click it and go to properties. In the properties box, there should be an option on the lower right hand side of the box to print a test page. Click on the button. If it still comes out blurry, then it is most likely those new ink cartridges you put in. Take them out and shake them a bit then try printing another test page. My best guess is that it's a problem with your cartridges. Make sure you give them a good shake and make sure there set properly in the printer.
