I have an Epson Photo R200 printer and I only use black ink. So why is it that my color cartridges diminish if I haven't used them at all?
It does this because every tme the printer runs a cleaning cycle or primes on power up, it uses an amount of ink to flush the heads and lubricate and cool them. All inkjets use colour ink even when printing black only. Lasers also use color toner for 'calibrating' themselves every so often.
