I have an Epson Stylus c64 printer and I got a cable that has the USB end so I can plug it into my laptop. Every time I try to print something, the ink cartridges go across the paper, but nothing prints. I've had the printer clean itself and it seems functional -so it's not the ink. Somehow the message of what to print isn't going to the printer. What do I do?

Contact the manufacturer. I'm also sure the manual came with an instruction booklet. Since you know it will print, go to your printer's menu and make sure there is even a connection.
