I have an HP Officejet All-In-One 4215 Printer and Windows Vista Ultimate. I have downloaded the latest drivers from the HP website and even used my printer installation disc. Vista does not even recognize the disc in the drive after it has finshed downloading. I have my printer properly connected. I did not plug the device in until Vista prompted me to. I'm really considering downgrading back to XP where my printer worked fine. Do the following steps. First to do is to uninstall, if the previous driver exists. Step 1: Unplug USB cable from computer end. Step 2: Put the printer CD in the computer. Go to My Computer, right click HP CD drive and select Open. Go to the folder and unistall. Now, you will get an MS DOS window. Press Enter to uninstall the previous driver from the computer. Step 3: Restart the computer. Step 4: Open the downloaded file and run the file. Do not connect the USB now. Go through the installation wizard for guidance. Step 5: If installation fails again, call HP Technical Support for free assistance.
