I have just acquired an old Brother HL 820 MONO laser printer and text was pale. I have fitted a new toner cartridge but the finish is grainy, like brush marks in a verticle fashion. Is there something that I can clean or does it possibly need a new drum or any other ideas.

not really economical to repair, if the picture is as you describe the drum is gone!
