I haven't done any printing on my Epson CS41 for about a year so I bought a new cartridge. What I couldn't get was after installing it, the print quality was so bad and even after I did nozzle checks it just won't print nicely. Should I return the cartridge to the shop, or just leave the cartridge in the printer for while?
If you haven't used the printer for 'about a year', the problem is not the cartridge. Your printhead is plugged. You will need to do several head cleanings. Running a nozzle check between each cleaning will let you know if the cleanings are having any effect. Note: cleaning uses up copious amounts of ink. It's possible to use an entire cartridge to unplug a printhead.
