I need help refilling my HP Officejet Pro k5400. Why won't it print after I put the cartridges back in?See that little chip at the bottom of the cartridge? That is what is making it absolutely impossible for you to refill that cartridge. No number of cartridges to swap out is going to do the trick, you need to absolutely replace your cartridge. There is no chip re setter which is going to make that chip work again. The tape trick stopped working on cartridges manufactured int he last 10 years. It is both date stamped and encrypted, it cannot, and will not reset to a point where you will get that cartridge to function again. Even a refilling center will not be able to refill those cartridges. You should be able to get compatible online for a substantial savings. Cost per drop (assuming you only buy 88xl cartridges) you have the cheapest ink jet printer to run, often times cheaper than a color laser printer. Get your hands on some compatibles, a full set can be purchased for under $50.
