Is there anyway I can disable the ink monitor on my Epson DX5000 printer? I am well aware of Epson trying to use chip technolgy to stop us from refilling our cartridges when they are nearly empty. My black ink monitor was showing virtually running on fumes, but there was enough ink still in the cart to produce at least 20 pages of text.

Yes. There is a utility that you can install and use on epson printers that allows you to freeze your ink levels and allow you to continue using them until they run out. Its called SSC service utility. It's available for download free online.
