Is there anyway to have my HP Officejet 7110 to print even though it says the black cartridge is expired?
First, take the cartridge out and check the date on it. The expiry date is stamped right on the cartridge. If it is indeed past that date, take it back to the store (since you said you just got it). Check the packaging as well, if you still have it. There should be a 'sell by' date on it, which is 6 months before the expiry date. The store has a responsibility to remove expired products from their shelves, and not sell them, just like a grocery store does. If you bought it a while ago and stored it, chalk it up to lesson learned. You can't buy cartridges way in advance and store them - they have a 2 year shelf life from the date of manufacture. If it's *not* expired, call HP at 800-474-6836 and tell them what is happening. As far override, you don't want to override anything to do with ink on this printer. Reason being, it has seperate printheads, and you risk doing major damage to them. Having seperate printheads saves you a lot of money in the long run (cost per page) but you don't want to mess around with overrides - you can do real damage. It's not the kind of cartridge you want to be refilling, either. The IDS (Ink Delivery System) is sensitive, and new printheads are expensive and can be hard to find.
