It's a Brother MFC-240C. It makes the same sounds as if it is printing, but the paper it feeds out has no ink on it.
You just need to clean the print head. On the front panel of your printer, there should be a button labeled 'ink'. Press it and scroll through the options. There should be one that should allow you to clean the nozzles.
