My Epson dx7450 series printer won't let me print black ink. It is a full cartridge and the display says that it's full, but won't print anything black. I have tried nozzle check and head cleaning and am having to print assignments out in navy blue and other colours. i have tried black ink only and nothing seems to work.

Is your printer set to print in color to begin with? Change the properties to black to use the black cartridge in printer properties. If its set to color, it uses the combined color cartridges to produce black and if these cartridges are low and you have it set to print in color, you won't print black.
