My Lexmark printer is not printing in the right colors. Almost everything comes out green. I bought new name brand ink cartridges, but it didn't change anything. Also, sometimes it won't print at all. I just get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. I did the troubleshooting, but nothing I did worked. Could the problem lie in my USB cable?
Try the following two tests: 1) take the printer and cable to another computer. Install and try to print. 2) Replace the cable. If the printer fails to print on the other computer, you know it's not the driver or software. If replacing the printer cable does not fix the problem, then you know that the printer has failed and needs to be repaired or replaced.
