My printer (lexmark Z640) would not work with my new Hewlett Packard laptop and I get the message about communication problems. How can I solve this problem?1. Did you install it using the Add New Hardware Wizard or with the setup file in the drivers you downloaded from Lexmark's website? (file cjr640EN.exe) --If you are not sure, did you plug your printer in first and a Window popped up and then you pointed to where you downloaded the drivers and where the self-extract program sent them? 2. Suggestion: Remove the drivers in Add/Remove Programs and if necessary under Globe | Control Panel | Printers. Unplug the printer. Reboot the computer. Once back into Windows. Browse your Hard Drive to C:Lexmark and run the setup file. Plug in the printer when it tells you to and if the Add New Hardware wizard pops up, just cancel out of it and continue with the setup. 3. Does the printer test page now print? (Globe | Control Panel | Printers and Faxes. Right click on the printer | click on Properties | Test page.)
