My printer can only print black and yellow, not blue or red. Anyone know what the problem is? and how can i fix it? I have an Epson Stylus CX5400 printer. It recently ran out of ink, so i replaced all inks (black and the color ones). This is a new printer and replaced ink for the first time. When I print pictures, all other colors are fine, but there is no blue or red (none at all). I already tried all the cleaning functions on the printer, like cleaning the print heads, align the print heads, but nothing works.
You can either try with new cartridges or call the Epson helpline. If your printer is under warranty use the headline. The problem with Epson's piezoelectric technology is that the print heads must always contain some ink and the ink must not be allowed to dry out. In most cases, if either happens the print head needs to be serviced (as it is moulded in the printer). Under waraanty, Epson will in effect send you a new printer. Outside of warranty, it is cheaper to buy a new printer.
