The Dell 720 will only print in color not in black ink.
Your Dell printers have default black ink in the cartridge while some have colored cartridges that just sets the calibration to match grayscale colors. In printer applications, you will see the print option in the menu. Access the menu by pressing Ctrl+ P, then click Properties. Then click grayscale (black and white) on the printer properties referring to colors. If that does not work then maybe you have no black ink left in your cartridge and it has to be refilled.
