What could cause the printer to not recognize the ink cartridge? This may be caused if any ink has escaped past the contact point on the print head. The print head should be blotted with a lint-free cloth. If the problem persists, the ink cartridge will have to be replaced. Other factors that could cause a problem include: the printer ran out of ink, a clogged nozzle, the nozzle failing to receive an electrical signal, or damage to the print head.
