What is the best printer on the market that does not use up a lot of ink?
Probably the best ink usage printers on the market right now are those that use HP's newer scalable printing technology. Very little ink is wasted on these printers. If you want to copy, scan, and print take a look at the HP Photosmart C5180. It's fast (up to 30ppm), does really nice photos, and the ink is inexpensive. It uses 6 cartridges and all 6 cartridges can be purchased in a combo pack for $36. I have this printer and it is the best one I've ever owned. You can find it at most large retailers that sell printers. The price is $199, but more than likely you'll be able to find it on sale somewhere for around $179 or less. That may sound like a lot for a printer, but the low ink prices and the functionality makes it quite worth it.
