What is the difference between a photo ink and a regular ink?
Although inks seem to be one big fluid in cartridges, they are actually specially formulated to do different purposes. In this case photo inks are especially designed to be placed on photo papers. While regular inks are used for multiple uses but they cannot duplicate the quality of photo inks in printing photos. Also I would not recommend using photo ink for regular usage because they take too much ink and the quality of your photo prints will quickly deteriorate.
