When I print with my HP LaserJet 2300, this black smudge of toner goes all the way down my page, right down the center the thickest and then fades out to the sides. I tried cleaning the paper path and print cartridge areas, the little transfer roller had lots of residue that I cleaned off and that didnt work. and i also ran a cleaning page through. What seems to be the problem?

What seems to be the problem?
Open your cartridges, take a sheet of paper, and carefully slip the paper into the Toner hole from side to side to clean the 'residue' and then shake your toner cart horizontally. Take a dry cloth and clean the 'Mirror' inside the Printer. (you can see it from outside) try to print some paper again, if this problem still exists, check the smudges. Is the position exactly same from one page to another page? If the smudges has the same position, maybe, your Laser Mirror (this is different with the first mirror) is dirty.
