Why can't my Brother printer print properly? it's been a long time since I've used the printer and only white blank lines show up when I print.
The print head has dried out. You will simply want to run a number of print head cleanings. This can be done by hitting your menu key and cycling through until you get the maintenance or ink menu. Hit 'OK' Clean the print heads should be an option within this menu. It may take more than one shot, however that is the only way you are going to get that bad boy printing again. In the future, your printer has a print head that is part of the printer, it needs to be used at least once every couple weeks if you wish it to keep printing. If this is not possible, run a print head cleaning once every two to three weeks. Do not soak the cartridge in warm water, that will just ruin your cartridge, your cartridge is an ink tank, there is nothing to unblock. The part that needs to be unblocked is inside the printer itself, and it cannot be removed.
