Why do some printer inks have one color valve while others have multiple color valves?
The mechanism for single chamber printer inks and multi-color cartridges is based by purpose and design. Multi-color cartridges have multiple chambers that hold different ink colors - mainly Cyan, Magenta, Yellow. The printer software will spray put different amounts of color ink to arrive at a specific color. Thus, you can use up one chamber faster than other chambers. Multi-colored printers go with C/Y/M/K settings in your graphics editor while Uni-color cartridges correspond with R/G/B settings.
