how to open a printer ink cartridge
Opening a printer ink cartridge is not advisable, unless necessary for inserting ink during a refill.  To insert ink, make an opening, limited to as small as possible, in the top of the ink chamber.  This is usually possible by piercing foil or a small vent towards the top of the cartridge.  This opening will be used to insert the ink via the refill syringe, and does not require to be resealed after use.  It is advisable to handle an open ink cartridge with care, particularly in proximity to carpets and furnishing, given the propensity to leak and stain.
