how to speed up network printer
Slow network printers can be very frustrating, but there is a workaround for Windows XP users.  If you are suffering from this problem, you should try entering the following from the command prompt: NET USE lpt2\\networkshare\printer This has the effect of changing the port from which the printer is operating, which seems to speed up the printing process for some networked printers.  Additionally, you will also have to make changes to the same effect inside the printer properties menu, or delete and reinstall the printer with the new port settings.
