my machine is Brother MFC-210C, and it stopped when I photocopied some paper (B&W). It said 'Ink Empty Magenta', so I replaced the ink like always. But when I injected the cartridge, the printer didn't recognize it as a new one.

Buy a new cartridge. Refilling can give you bad results even with a good printer.
