what is a shared printer?
A shared printer is a printer that is attached directly (or wirelessly) to a computer (the primary computer) but is also used by another machine on the network.  A common feature of schools, offices and even some homes, sharing a printer between machines is both cost effective and efficient, allowing you to isolate printing expenditure to one single unit in one single location.  With less printers to maintain, and less consumables to buy, sharing a printer is an easy and effective way to save on the costs of regular printing where multiple workstations are necessary.
