- I have a Brother DCP-120C multi-function printer. However, I always get the message, 'BRSVC01A encountered a problem and needs to close'. - We have an older Gateway computer that has not been used for a while. The computer isn't hooked up to the internet so we can't download anything onto it. We are using the computer to type up papers (needed it for a secretary to use). We bought a new printer (HP or Canon D1400) and we put in the disc that came with it before plugging it in the comp to make sure it gets installed correctly. During the installation it stops and says it cannot find any USB ports. There are 2 on the back of the computer which we used the day before with a mouse (at first it didn't work till we rebooted). We plugged the printer in and rebooted. The computer didn't recognize any new devices and had the same problem with the installation. We tried the wizard and didn't find the printer model for it. We were wanting to know if using the repair on the XP disc would fix the problem or what else we could do to solve this?

- My computer runs Vista and is connected to my printer via a printer port. A second computer running Windows XP is connected to the same printer port. I can print Word documents with no problem. E-mail messages and browser pages print all black. I do not have any of these problems when printing from the second computer using Windows XP. I did not have these problems when both computers connected to the printer through a LAN. Before I installed the print server I downloaded the HP drivers for my printer model for use with Vista. The second computer running XP, which does not have any printing problem, uses a different HP driver that is for use with XP. My first thought was that the problem was caused by the print server, but I do not think that could be the case because the XP computer does not have any printing problem. - Hi, I have an HP PSC 2175 printer and it has been printing slow lately, out of nowhere. I checked the settings and it is set to print 'Normal'. When I print a page, and I put it as 'fast draft' it still prints slow. It used to not do this. I thought maybe it would be the ink cartridges so I replaced them and still the same problem. In fact, now when it tries to do the alignment test on the ink cartridges, it says 'paper too narrow' and does not do it. The paper is the same paper I've always used, it is the standard size, and yet it gives me that error. I even cleaned the inside of the printer (the sensor cover/lens) and no luck. I am pretty sure that I have the latest driver updates (the last one on the HP website is from 2004) so what else could it be?
