When I attempt to print something out that has black on it, the black seems to have like a fade to it and there is like some kind of faint gap in the letters right in a row across the middle of all the letters that are in black. I tried cleaning the printer using the option that lets you do that from the front of the printer. I own a Canon i950 and I was having difficulty with the system (I eventually found out the the print head was clogged and then I tried to do a deep clean and the problem persisted and it got worse it has gotten to the point to where it won't turn on completely i guess because of ink cloggs). My computer just doesn't seem to like printers. After our previous one broke down, my family just got a new Canon MP600. I do not doubt the quality of it as PC World ranked it as #1 in a list of printers, and it was working great when we first got it. Hello, My Canon S520 flashed the code indicating that the waste ink tank (which are really just ink absorbers) was full. It ceased to print immediately without even resuming after pressing the resume button. I ordered new waste ink absorbers from Canon, replaced them, cleaned my printer carefully and thoroughly and proceeded to re-set the printer (to stop the flashes). I did this according to Canon's Service Manual (and others who so kindly reveal the procedure). Unfortunately, this did not resolve the problem. My printer is still flashing the code for the waste ink tank being full even though it has brand new ones in it. It seems that the printer is not going into the 'Service Mode.' I don't know what to do now and since I have brand new inks and waste ink absorbers, I'd like to be able to redeem this one.?

I have a Dell AIO A922 printer. When I try to print, the process goes on as usual but the paper remains blank. When I tried to clean the spooler, it printed only a blue line and not a good one. I have a Dell Photo Printer 720 and I can't get anything to print in color. The color cartridge is almost full, and I have used very little ink out of it. It only stopped printing in color after I replaced the black cartridge. I went through the steps in the maintenance section of the printer section in the control panel, and I selected 'old' color and 'new' black' I've even done it with 'new' of both, and it still wont work. My Dell AIO Printer A940 won't print. I've updated its drivers, cleaned it, took the ink cartridges out, and the cables are fully plugged in, and cleaned it as best as I could. My ink level is nearly 75% full in the cartridges. I've tried printing text, pictures, and the test page. Many times, it comes up as a cartridge error. Also, it'll scan. I ran out of ink, so I went and bought some that was from OfficeDepot that was supposed to work with Dell printers. When I used it, there were little white lines running through the photograph that I printed. So I went and bought some more ink. The same thing happened, except now it has this yellowish look to it, plus the white lines and the black is also faded. I'm not sure whats wrong with it. I've adjusted the printing quality, I've did the 'clean print nozzles' test, and I even took the cartridges out and wiped them on a damp towel. I've also did the alignment test (and it says they cant be aligned). I have no idea what else to do..?

Although my Epson c88+ is old, the printer itself was never used. It came free with a computer. We already had a printer from an old computer so the printer sat in the box on a shelf. I recently needed the printer for sublimation ink so I set it up. The printer uses smart cartridges and sublimation ink, so there should be no reason for it to be leaking all over the place. It wasn't a big deal--a small blob here, a few dots there--but now its gotten worse. I can't print anything without the edges and random spots in the middle of the page getting covered in ink. It looks like black ink but it could be all the colors together. I opened the printer and found that there was a lot of ink leakage. I cleaned up what I could with paper towels, q-tips, etc., but it's so hard to get it all. Now I'm looking for a more definite solution.?

I've just replaced a new black ink cartridge when my Epson printer called for replacing the cartridge. But after the new ink cartridge was installed, it is still asking for a replacement. Is there a way to fix it?

Any ideas what's going on with my Epson Stylus C66 Every time I go to print anything I have to do a nozzle cleaning! After about 3 nozzle cleanings the print check finally comes up right, and it will print satisfactorily for that project. However, if any time elapses between that project and the next time I print (even as little as a day), I end up going through the same thing again. It's really annoying, as I'm wasting loads of ink, and paper. It only seems to be the colours that really need the cleaning each time, but of course, it cleans both black and colours, and there's no option to tell it not to clean one or the other. I've also changed the ink cartridges since this problem started, and it hasn't made any difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.?

I'm using an Epson CX4600 which I started using again after letting it gather dust for a few years. I replaced the ink and tried to print something out, but all that came out were a few faint pink lines. I can't even print with black ink. Well, given the fact that the printer hasn't been used in a while, and the expiry date of my 'new' ink cartridges was on Aug. 2007 (been sitting on the shelf too), I know it's either of these two things that's causing the problem. I just want to be assured that there's nothing mechanically wrong with this printer. What do you guys think P.S. I'm using a Epson DX4200 printer, and every time I print something I have white lines appear in the printout. I've tried installing newly purchased cartridges and I've cleaned the heads tons of times but no luck. I read somewhere on the internet that my print heads need realigning. When I use my printer's head realignment utility, it makes me print some test pages out then it tells me the following: Find The square without any visible bands in sets #1 through #4.Select the number that corresponds to that square from the list below for all sets. Then click Next. If every square contains a band, select the square with the thinnest band or bands. I havent got a clue what bands are. What the heck are bands and what is it talking about?

I own an Epson DX4400 printer, and it's been working fine in the 6 months or so that I've had it. My black ink cartridge recently ran out so I replaced it with a new one (of the Epson brand as advised), yet I've had problems with printing in general; white lines will cut across black text and whole lines of writing will be cut off completely, so it's not even possible to read it. I have tried all the following:- 1/ Checked that the printer software is not set to Black Ink only. 2/ Cleaned Print Head Nozzles (6) times. 3/ Replaced Black Ink Cartridge. 4/ Checked Photoenhance is turned off. 5/ Done a Nozzle Print check - Coloured lines are OK - No black showing. 6/ Checked Ink status - Black is showing fine - plenty there. I have an Epson Stylus CX5800F Inkjet printer. This thing does, copying, faxing, scanning, and printing (of course). It's been a great printer for the last four years. Lately I've been having problems with blotches of ink on my papers. Which I thought I had that resolved by cleaning the printer myself and having the printer do its head cleaning, etc. Then lately during its print job, at the last part of the print job, it started grabbing the corner of the paper and wrinkling it and causing ink blotches on it. Now I'm thinking it's time for a new printer, or to fix this one Could this be an easy fix What could be the cause of it grabbing the last corner of the paper and wrinkling it and making blotches It's only grabbing one corner. If I'm facing my printer, it's grabbing the left corner at the end of the print job.?

Adopted the printer. Says that there isn't any black ink. The cartridge is so full it sloshes. Everything 'looks' fine in there - the tube is connected. I don't think it's clogged because if it were that, it would at least attempt to print. It won't let me do a cleaning or alignment or anything until I get this problem fixed (which is annoying). Should I go buy another ink cartridge to see if that fixes the problem I have an Epson CX5400 Printer.?

I just got my Epson Stylus CX8400 printer. When you turn it on to install the print cartridges, you get the 'a printer error has occurred' error where it says you have to turn off the printer. When you turn printer on, the printer squeaks for a second or two, and then you get the error message. Also, print head won't advance to the proper position to install the print cartridges. Tape was removed properly from print head unit, so that isn't it. Read the manual, went to the Epson website, went through the troubleshooting -- nothing worked. Any suggestions on what can be done Printer is brand new.?
My printer won't work - I press the power button, it lights up green and then goes off and the paper button and ink button start to flash alternately. I have tried turning it off and on again, and restarting my computer. I have been through the troubleshooting actions for the C66 on the Epson website, but they have not helped. There is nothing in the way of the printer carriage - no paper jam, no foreign object. The lid on top of the cartridge carriage is fully closed (I have had a similar problem where it wouldn't quite click into place, so I have double checked this). When turning it on the printer doesn't seem to want to even try to move the carriage (like it does normally) - the green power light goes straight off and the other lights start to flash. There is plenty of paper in the feeder and all the ink cartridges are full. The computer seems to be sending the information as normal (ie when you select 'print' the printer icon appears on the task bar).?

I just bought a new printer - Epson Stylus NX400, and my computer will not recognize the printer. I had an old Dell AIO printer before, and it wouldn't recognize the Scan function, so I looked up online how to completely wipe my system clean and start over so it might work. It never did (and I think I may have messed something up doing that). Now my new printer is not being recognized - I installed the CD, updated the drivers from Epson's website, and even installed the driver from the Printer and Faxes folder under Control Panel in the Server Properties window. It is shown as installed on my system in the Driver tab of Print Server Properties, but it is now showing up as installed on my computer, and I cannot Scan anything. I am running Windows XP.?

I just purchased an Epson SP1400 printer. I just got it setup and when I make prints they have white lines. I run the software print head cleaner and the next print is fine. Then after that the lines return. I am running Mac OS X. The software says I still have ink but could it be the printer comes with started cartridges and I need new Ink Or could it be the printer. My Epson C62 refuses to print. I took the ink carrier that has the print head foil on the bottom out of the machine, I soaked it in Isopropyl for a week I then flushed the three ink ports through until they ran clear. I fitted new cartridges then put it through the head cleaning program 6 times and on inspection the overflow reservoir was soaked with ink. (Before this it was bone dry) I took the cartridges out and looked on the bottom and all the ink outlets on both cartridges showed signs that the ink had been flowing. After doing as described above it still goes through the motions of printing but the paper still comes out blank?

I just replaced all of my ink (brand new, not recycled, Epson cartridges), but those nasty horizontal lines keep appearing. I have an HP 4650 that's out of warranty. Whenever I print a black and white page the text fades out the closer that it gets to the right hand side of the page, right up until it vanishes all together. However whenever I print color this does not happen. Even if there is only a little bit of color on the page the print out is perfect. My toners are all full, my imaging drum is at about 90% but my developer is at about 10%. I have also checked the distribution of ink inside the toner cartridge and they are all OK. Firstly, my printer is HP Photosmart C3180and uses 338 (black) and 343 (tri colour) cartridges. I just refilled both, and the black cartridge works fine. The Tri-colour seems to be leaking, so I told the guy and he replaced it with another one. When I put it in and print, The colour came out all messed up. I see 3 holes on top of the colour ink cartridge. Is that the problem (the holes) or is it my printer I tried cleaning and aligning my printer. It's just seems to be the colour thats the problem. For some reason my HP DeskJet 1120C Professional Series printer seems to be stuck in some kind of loop. My printer is printing colors wrong. I tried to print a picture of some family members, and what was supposed to be black was purple, what was supposed to be brown is a blueish color, and there's a ton of strong reds and greens. The faces look fine, except for a little bit of red, but the rest of the picture is terrible. It almost looks like a negative, except that parts of the picture (faces especially) are fine. It's one of those printer/scanner/copier all in one's (HP Photosmart C4240a, if that matters), and I've had it align and clean the print cartridges. That changed the colors a little, but they're still off, and now there are splotches of ink outside of the picture itself. I'm planning on using this printer to print photos as christmas presents, so I really need to get it working. I've only used it once or twice before this. Any suggestions?

I have an HP895 printer (had for 8 years) with a new OEM cartridge that was installed two months ago. It was working fine. While in the middle of printing colorful text (first pages were fine), I could see & hear that it was running out of ink, so I stopped it quickly. I immediately refilled the color that was missing, using a needle kit with ink specifically designed for this cartridge (HP23). I put the cartridge back and it printed fine for about 1/4 page, then streaks. No amount of cleaning pages improved it. Obviously there's no clog (it was working mins ago) IMPORTANT: about a month ago, I refilled 2 of the 3 colors--BEFORE they went empty--in this same cartridge, and it was working fine! I smashed open the last cartridge. Has just a sponge in the reservoir, and metal screens at the print head, and membrane between the two areas. I don't understand the function, but I think my trouble is a 'feature' of the membrane.?

HP LJ 5M is printing one faded pink stripe on pages in the same location on printouts. Stripe is about 3/4 inch high. Nothing odd seen on toner cartridge (recycled but otherwise fine), transfer roller or fuser. Printer is clean with no evidence of any pink substance. Paper is natural bond letterhead, but no pink and no stripe that could be picked up and transferred back onto the paper. Very strange!?

I just bought the Lexmark E120 today. Salesman didn't tell me the USB cord needed to be bought separately, so I've used the cord from my LaCie HDD to connect it to my PC. Installation CD wouldn't work, so I downloaded the drivers from the Lexmark website. It seems to have installed properly, but when I try to print anything, it doesn't seem to send to the printer. When I open the Printers status, it says 'Error - Printing' or 'Error - Sent to printer'. I can print a test page using the button on the printer, but can't print one using a computer command. We downloaded the software for my Lexmark X3430 printer, and we had to go to their site and get the software that was compatible for Windows Vista. The computer keeps showing that we dont have the USB cables hooked up, we do, tried different ports, another USB cable, unplugged and plugged back in the wall outlet, etc. Can someone tell me what to do I have Windows Vista home basic?

I own a Lexmark P6250 3-in-1 printer and it has always been a reliable machine, but a few weeks ago I changed the photo cartiridge and printed several photo sheets successfully, towards the end it was giving the photos a pink hue. So I went through all the basic troubleshooting where you clean the heads and align the cartiridges and then it started printing fairly normal except that there was a green outline around the brightess parts of the photo mostly faces and teeth, a very unattractive effect. I am trying to print high quality pictures on a glossy paper for work. The printer was working fine yesterday, and I decided to change the ink cartridges in the printer bc they were low. PRINTER: Samsung SCX-4521FG Multifunction Laser Printer The printer works great even after replacing the black toner. I've never experienced a problem with documents placed on the 'document glass' nor the top automatic document feeder. Only recently has placing documents in the automatic document reader for copying have i been seeing a single vertical streak down each copied page. To avoid the streak i have to manually copy via the document glass. The toner cartridge is fine as proven by the alternate copying method.
