I own a Canon BJC-6000 and a Canon MPC-400. The problem is that after having used them for couple of years (only light home-user stuff like the occasional document or photo) they start to constantly fill the yellow ink tank with other ink (magenta mainly, whether that is of any significance) resulting in photos with a purple/pink tint (well when I say tint I mean it is so purple/pink that you cannot get any other colour, only shades of magenta.) The printers have never been damaged in any way and they have never been heavily used. I never buy cheap crappy ink tanks or those kits for refilling your tanks: I only buy the genuine Canon tanks. It does not take long for the yellow tank to fill and cleaning the print heads (using the utilily provided with the printers) does not help. I do not know if it is only the yellow tank that fills with magenta ink (because as you will know, cyan ink is quite dark when in a tank anyway). It can't just be my printers; what did/would you do about this?

I have a Dell All in One Printer (922) which has been working perfectly for almost 3 years. My current black and color ink cartridges are on their 2nd refill, and seemed to work for a little bit after reinstalling them. I have tried cleaning them, troubleshooting, etc. The only thing that worries me is that I can see ink blots on the bottom of the ink cartridge (I don't know if this is normal), and my computer doesn't recognize that the color cartridge is even there. I have a Dell 725, and have had it for a little over 2 years now. It was printing perfectly fine, no problems. When I tried to print something, the error message 'Cartridge is missing' came up, I thought it was due to the fact that my ink was very low, and I've been trying to print off of it. Did I break my ink cartridge I just had a color ink cartridge refilled at Walgreens. I was a bit clumsy when trying to remove the protective cap, and accidentally touched the 'inky' part. Should I worry that the ink or paper will fade in the future Any suggestions on purchasing the good stuff?
I have an Epson C86, and I had ink refilled a few months ago, my computer crashed, so it sat for awhile. I tried cleaning it after my pc was working and it used up all my ink (along with the majority of my color ink). Today I just bought a brand new black in cartridge, and I've been cleaning it, and it has been progressing, but I don't want to use up the remainder of my color ink in the process of cleaning the heads (It's about 15 or so bucks for each and there is 3 in total, yellow, magenta, and cyan). Can I clean only the black ink cartridge?
I've got an Epson R2400, the photo prints look great on Epson paper; but I'm having trouble printing on plain paper. The prints look like someone just smeared some dull ink over the paper. There is no gradients in the colors, no detail and looks very dark and muddy. Does anyone know how to make it print properly on plain paper?
Have you tried refilling your own ink cartridge by a bottle of ink & a syringe I have Epson T038 Cartridges. My printer is fine and currently full up for now. Anyway, I have 1 small bottle of black ink 1- 3cc/ml syringe & Empty cartridges (3pcs) Question is what's next, where do I inject the stuff and how many cc's and is it okey to tore the labels I am pretty sure that the important thing is not to damage the chip beside it. I'm just experimenting if this could be done and if anyone already tried it and if you could guide me.?

I just recently bought a printer at a garage sale for $5. The lady told me that all it needed was ink. I know that they don't recommend that you add ink to the cartridge. It is an Epson C68 and it has four cartridges. I shook them and it seemed to me that all of them except for the black had ink in them. I have an Epson Stylus C86 I just bought a new black ink cartridge for it. When I print a document, the color cartridges print, but the black does not. I'm not sure why. I've changed ink cartridges a hundred times in this. The paper acts like it's printing, but then comes out blank. No error message or anything like that, and the black ink cartridge is recognized by the computer as full. It's possible that my wife changed the settings, but she's not sure. My HP LJ 5M is printing one faded pink stripe on pages in the same location on printouts. Stripe is about 3/4 inch high. I have refilled my black ink cartridge with a refill kit. On the print test page the black bar, is black on right hand side and thn gradually fades to the left until white. I have cleaned the cartridge etc as suggested by HP. When we filled the ink, instructions said fill the top right hole only, is that correct. Help please.?

HP LJ 5M is printing one faded pink stripe on pages in the same location on printouts. Stripe is about 3/4 inch high. Nothing odd seen on toner cartridge (recycled but otherwise fine), transfer roller or fuser. Printer is clean with no evidence of any pink substance. Paper is natural bond letterhead, but no pink and no stripe that could be picked up and transferred back onto the paper. Very strange!?

The levels are fine. The black is on the low side (the meter was on the 2nd block out of 5) but there's still some there. The color ink levels are great. My blank ink wasn't coming out at all. I am thinking about buying an HP laserjet printer in the near future.
